Avalaya India Private Limited took wings in the year 2012. First dedicated solely to exports and distribution, the organisation quickly grew from strength to strength and diversified into storage facilities which is the need of the hour.
As the Directors of the organisation, we- Dushyant Kohli and Palak Kohli, are now steering Avalaya India Private Limited in an all-new direction. The initiative is dedicated to making the idea of selfstorage in India customer-centric by making the process easy, comfortable, convenient, affordable and flexible. We are devoted to making your goods safe and secure at all times and making selfstorage accessible to one and all for any and every kind of inventory.
In the next decade, we envision Avalaya India Private Limited becoming a pan-India market leader in the self-storage space by creating world-class storage facilities, while also reaching out to remote areas and smaller towns.

Using Self-storage
Having lived a large part of my life- nearly 23 years in different countries like the USA, Canada and the UK, I have witnessed for myself the growing importance of the self-storage system in diverse countries. In fact, I myself use self-storage in the UK since I find it extremely economical and easy to use. I have always been assured of the safety and security of my personal belongings and business-related objects lying in self-storage in the country. Besides, there are no legal restrictions or stipulations with regard to this system. No wonder then, that it has already struck a chord with people in many countries!
The Birth of the Idea- My Eureka Moment
After I first-hand experienced the benefits of self-storage in the UK, I was convinced of its ability to make people’s lives easier and more convenient in India. As someone who is naturally inclined towards business, I began to see a massive opportunity to introduce the idea of self-storage in the country after I returned to India after more than two decades with my family. It seemed to be the perfect moment to begin my journey as an entrepreneur when my father, who ably owned and managed a warehouse in South Delhi for years, was giving it away on rent to a third party. Thus, what began as an experience in the UK, gradually began to take shape as a business venture in India!
Expertise
I have always placed emphasis on education and realise the importance of turning theory into practice. I completed my graduation in B.Com from Delhi University, followed by BBA from the Indian Institute of Planning and Management. I went on to pursue MBA from the University of Bradford, UK.
I kickstarted my career in the UK. My job profile, which entailed the distribution of automobile spare parts and FMCG products to more than 30 countries, was rather insightful.
Since my work has always been a passion for me, I had completed a massive 15 years of experience in warehousing and distribution even before I realised it!
My Vision & Mission: Turning Dream into Reality
I am extremely excited and devoted to making the idea of self-storage a success in India. However, no success story is complete without roadblocks. Following an extensive research and market study, I have learnt that there is a gap between self-storage, which already exists in India, and the kind of self-storage that I want to build in India. Thus, I worked hard towards making self-storage customer-driven by placing the client at the centre of the selfstorage universe, by making the business easy to operate, book and of course, use. Bit by bit, I find myself closer and closer towards the mission of building a self-storage company, where you can look online for a space, book a space, and use your space! It’s as simple as that! And we call it LOOK-BOOK-LOCK your self-storage, whereby you can operate your storage 24×7, 365 days in a year!
